If our lineup of finalists and judges wasn’t enough to get you excited about Demo Day, then hearing about our guest speakers should! We are thrilled to host Lieutenant General Michael Barbero as our introductory keynote presenter.  Barbero worked in the

DoD as the Director of Joint Improvised Explosive Device Defeat Organization, helping to eliminate the threat of roadside bombs to our servicemen and women. General Barbero has a strong history of being able to look at today’s problems and incorporate the tech sector into finding a solution to them. For instance, by looking at the problem of IED’s, Barbero was able to implement technologies such as, minesweepers, social media monitoring software, and special kevlar suites, all which were able to reduce the threat. He also has a great understanding of the value of portable power solutions in the military and believes that in order to put soldiers in the best position to succeed, reducing the weight burden of today’s energy solutions is a must.
